What is Fractionated Coconut Oil?

Fractionated coconut oil is a form of Coconut oil that has had the long-chain fatty acids removed via hydrolysis and steam distillation. This process makes the oil completely liquid at room temperature, and extends the product's shelf life.

Because Fractionated Coconut Oil is colorless and odorless, it is perfect for blending with essential oils as it preserves and maintains their original fragrance and benefits. This carrier oil is ideal for dry or troubled skin and provides a soothing topical barrier without clogging pores

What causes Tendonitis?

Tendonitis is inflammation of a tendon - the symptoms include pain and swelling and these symptoms should not be ignored.

Although tendonitis can be caused by a sudden injury, the condition is much more likely to stem from the repetition of a particular movement over time. Most people develop tendonitis because their jobs or hobbies involve repetitive motions, which put stress on the tendons, causing pain.

Treating tendonitis means resting the affected area - avoid the repetitive action that caused the injury. Relief can be provided by warming the area regularly with our Warming Oil which contains anti-inflammatory herbs and essential oils as well as providing an analgesic effect. Tendonitis usually takes at least several weeks to heal.

How is the Muscle & Tendon Pain Warming Oil applied?

For best results, apply the warming oil before and after exercise to help prevent injury. Studies have proven that warming up will help prevent torn muscles, strains, sprains and damage to tendons and ligaments.

When you experience a muscle or tendon injury, you should immediately use Ice to cool the area and apply compression (if possible) to prevent internal bleeding as soon as possible.

Within 24 hours, start applying the Oil 3-4 times a day and gently massage in to the affected area for 4-5 minutes to stimulate the circulation and flow of blood and chi to the damaged area.

If pain from the injury is chronic, does not dissipate within a week, or you experience internal bleeding, please see your doctor without delay.

What Essential Oils are in the product?

Our Muscle & Tendon Pain Warming Oil includes 18 traditional Chinese Medicine Herbs heat infused in Fractionated Coconut Oil PLUS a powerful blend of the following 12 Essential Oils:

Eucalyptus is a native Australian tree. Originally referred to as “eucalyptol” by the scientific community, the health benefits of eucalyptus oil come from a chemical now known as cineole — an organic compound shown to hold widespread medicinal effects, including reducing inflammation and pain.

Although eucalyptus has the highest known cineole levels of any plant (up to 80–95 percent), scientists have discovered that several other plants have significant levels of cineole as well – Ginger, Helichrysum and Peppermint – which are also used in this formulation to create a powerful synergistic pain reliving effect.

Helichrysum is known as the Everlasting Flower. Helichrysum has been used since ancient Greece for its restorative properties. Helichrysum is a European herb native to France, Italy, and a few neighboring Mediterranean countries. It is a very costly oil and very scarce.

Soothing and calming to the skin, Helichrysum has a wide range of remarkable medicinal properties.

Helichrysum  helps clear the accumulation of stagnant blood, bruises or blood clots which result from a hemorrhage. Helichrysum actually promotes cell health by encouraging the recycling of dead cells, and stimulates the production of new cells. It is also used as an anti-aging remedy with anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. An amazing plant!

Wintergreen is a tree native to North America and it is believed to have been Native Americans who discovered the use of its oil to eliminate pain in the muscles and joints. Wintergreen is readily absorbed through the skin and the presence of methyl salicylate induces numbness and an anesthetic effect on the nerves there. It also increases circulation of the blood and brings warmth to the area which helps to heal the bruising.

Most of its health benefits are from the methyl salicylate which promotes blood circulation, relieves pain from muscle cramps, joint pain, tendonitis and bone pain. It is also extremely popular with the people suffering from rheumatism, arthritis, and gout.

Lavender oil is extracted mostly from the flowers of the lavender plant, primarily through steam distillation and is the most used essential oil in the world today. The health benefits of lavender essential oil include its ability to eliminate nervous tension, enhance blood circulation, and treat respiratory problems.

Lavender essential oil is also known as an excellent remedy for various types of pains including those caused by sore and tense muscles, muscular aches, rheumatism, sprains, backache, and lumbago.

Frankincense is the resin harvested from the Boswellia tree on the Arabian peninsula and North Eastern Africa. Frankincense produces special compounds that have been found to have strong anti-inflammatory effects which assist in the healing of bruising. Frankincense has the ability to strengthen skin and improve its tone, elasticity, defense mechanisms against bacteria or blemishes, and appearance as someone ages.

Also used in incense and perfumes from biblical times, Frankincense is used as an immune system booster and relieves pain from headaches, cramps, muscular aches and injuries.

Lemongrass has a fragrant lemon aroma and is from the tropical grass family. Lemongrass is used to kill bacteria, reduce body aches and pains and is used in cooking as a digestive aid and flavour. Originating in Southeast Asia, Lemongrass essential oil is distilled from the leaves and woody stalks of the lemongrass plant.

Lemongrass contains purifying effects for the skin, making it a favourite ingredient of massage oil. Lemongrass also effective in relieving the pain and discomfort caused by rheumatism. It can be applied topically on both lumbago and sprains and helps in relieving neuralgia

Ginger is part of the plant family that includes turmeric and cardamom, both exceptionally beneficial to your health and wellness. It has a sweet, spicy, woody and warm scent. Ginger essential oil is a warming essential oil that works as an antiseptic and stimulant.

The main therapeutic benefits come from gingerols, the oily resin from the root that acts as a highly potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent. A component of ginger essential oil, called Zingibain, is responsible for the oil’s anti-inflammatory properties. This important component provides pain relief and treats muscle aches, arthritis, migraines and also works as a headache remedy.

Clove Bud - Clove oil is extracted from the evergreen tree of clove, which produces a flower bud that has numerous medicinal properties. It is often referred to as clove bud. The Chinese have used clove for more than 2,000 years as a fragrance and spice, however due to its pain relieving anaesthetic properties, clove oil has also long been used in dentistry for its numbing properties.

For the same reason, clove oil is used as a pain reliever on other parts of the body, like joints and overworked muscles, to provide some relief from painful inflammation or swelling. Clove Bud contains many flavonoids, which are anti-inflammatory agents.

Black Pepper is the most common and potent flavouring and spice of the peppercorn family. Because of its warming, anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties, black pepper oil works to reduce muscle injuries, tendonitis, and symptoms of arthritis and rheumatism.

Studies have shown Black Pepper has warming properties and when combines with other essential oils such as those in this blend, can significantly improve pain tolerance. Black pepper oil is warming, stimulating and improves circulation, thereby giving immediate relief for rheumatism and arthritis, particularly during the winter when the symptoms are aggravated the most.

Cypress essential oil is obtained from young twigs, stems and needles of the Cypress tree.. Because of Cypress oil’s antispasmodic qualities, it inhibits problems associated with spasms, such as cramps and muscle pulls. Cypress oil is effective in relieving restless leg syndrome. Cypress essential oil also decreases fluid retention, a common cause of carpal tunnel; it also stimulates blood flow and reduces inflammation.

Cypress essential oil improves circulation, giving it the power to clear up cramps, as well as aches and pains. Some cramps are due to a buildup of lactic acid, which is cleared away with cypress oil’s diuretic properties, thereby relieving discomfort.

Peppermint is a hybrid mint, a cross between watermint and spearmint  - the cooling anti-inflammatory properties of this soothing oil will help easy aching muscles and cramps. The antispasmodic properties of peppermint essential oil will help relieve tension and cramps after an intense workout.
